About

Roz

I live in a beautiful rural village just south of Oxford where there are many lovely walks.  I enjoy taking photographs of the scenery around me on my travels.

In my photographs I look for composition, lines and contours in the land, movement, colour, texture, light, shadow and seasons.  These aspects help me to capture the essence of the countryside.

Where possible I use upcycled materials in my work such as, fabrics, threads, beads and other fibres.

Some of the techniques used in my work process involves:  Machine and Hand Stitching, Dyeing, Fusing, Dissolving, Beading and Gilding.  These techniques help me to build up detailed layers of stitch and colour and helps the viewer to connect with the natural environment.
